Chapter Seven

Caleb slowly pulled out of Laird. His mate’s flushed skin left him craving another taste. He leaned in and brought their lips together. Slowly, his tongue slid inside his mate’s warm cavern. Laird’s hands inched down his back. Fingers kneaded at his ass as they tried to pull him into another round of sex. With a sigh, Caleb pulled away.

The warmth that had thawed his heart left.

“I want you.”

Caleb’s needs echoed his mate’s. When this mission was over, he’d spend days exploring paradise.

“You have me. As much as I want you on hands and knees with your ass in the air, we need to clean up and get dressed.”

Laird wrapped an arm around him. “I’d rather stay like this.”

Caleb’s heart pounded. “Come on. Let’s wash up.” It took every ounce of control to pull away.

“What’s the rush? I like being covered in sweat and cum.”

Caleb willed his cock to remain soft. “Next time, you’ll bathe in my seed. Both inside and outside of your body. I’ll make sure you work up a sweat as I drench you in our love.”

“What’s stopping that from happening now?” Laird squirmed, making him even more enticing.

“The fleet commander wants to see us in”—he turned his wrist to see the time display—“ten minutes.”

Laird sat up. “Why?” Wild panic filled his blue eyes. “Does he want me to leave?”

“Nothing’s going to happen while I’m by your side. Relax.”

“The kids?” Laird asked. “Do I need to bring them?”

“Key and Ren will be protected. This afternoon, Key turned the dining hall into a gaming room, drawing boxes on the floor to show the warriors his favorite game. Another warrior set up an electronic gaming system. My comrades started to challenge the twins. Did you know that Ren’s a computer genius?”

Laird nodded. “Key has a way with people. Ren’s better with machines. They make a good team.”

Caleb nodded. “Seth ran a complete set of blood tests on the three of you.”

“Why?” Rage burned within Laird’s blue eyes, telling Caleb a line had been crossed.

“Long space flights are hard on the body. Warsarians are strong, but the three of you aren’t Warsarian. We create supplements that help non-Warsarian bodies adjust and lessen the damage done during long flights. Your body’s needs are different from Key and Ren. That’s why Seth ran the tests.” Laird nodded as he calmed down. “The twins are safe on this ship. Preparations are being made for the three of you to stay here.”

Laird sucked in a breath.

“We need to talk about Taurus and the people disappearing.”

“I know,” Laird said with weariness.

After scrounging up a spacesuit and cleaning their bodies, which ended up being not so innocent, they stood outside of the fleet commander’s office. Caleb pressed the button.

“Enter,” Fleet Commander Null Runner said with a softer-than-usual voice. When they entered, Key and Ren were playing with two tablets. Key waved as he went back to attacking some kind of green alien. Ren looked up and smiled. His screen held complex sequences of puzzles.

“What happened to the movie?”

Key looked up.
